My pictures

      Last Friday, I went to Taka’s apartment. Taka helped me revise three pictures in his apartment. At first, I did not draw very well and I also did not know how to revise those three pictures. My friend, Taka, is very kind and friendly; in addition, he is good at drawing. On Friday afternoon, he gave me some suggestions about my pictures. For example, he told me how to use color and how to draw the structure of the picture. We revised three pictures together. Those three pictures looked much better. I learned a lot in that afternoon. Now, I have more confidence in my art class.

Nothing spcial happened

To be honest, nothing special happened on last weekend. What I did on last weekend was just stay at home and prepare for the Toefl test. As we know, the Toefl test is very important for all international students; in addition, we have to get good grades in the Toefl test to transfer to some famous universities.

In fact, Toefl test is very difficult. Preparing for the Toefl test is very hard and it also takes a lot of time. I will take the Toefl test on August 20^th. There are about three weeks remaining, nevertheless I do not have any confidence on that test. I hope and pray that I can get good grades on this test.

Except the Toefl test, maybe I also need to prepare for the SAT test. I know the SAT test is harder than the Toefl test. Furthermore, the SAT test requires a lot of academic vocabulary that I have to memorize.

I realize that I will be very busy with lots of things in these two years, such as the Toefl test, the SAT test. A lot of stuff is waiting for me.

The birthday party

This weekend was great. Last Saturday was my friend’s birthday. Some of my friends came together and had a great dinner. After dinner, we came to my friend’s house to play some poker games. We had a fantastic birthday party. I really enjoyed this birthday party.

At first, we ate dinner together. The dinner was delicious. We ate dinner at Bellevue. It was a Chinese restaurant which could suit our flavor. We ordered lots of Chinese food and some soup, but we could not eat all food, so we packed some food to home. Before dinner, we also brought some gifts for my friend. I remembered that I brought some food for my friend’s birthday party because the birthday party needed a lot of food.
       When we finished our dinner, we went to my friend’s house. At first, we felt bored because we did not know what we could do in my friend’s house. After a while, we began to play poker games, although it was still a little bit bored. After playing poker for several hours, we all were very sleepy. We went to bed around 3 o’clock am. This is the birthday party.

Anyway, we had a great time during this birthday party.

Dragon Fest

     Last week, I went to the Dragon Fest in Chinatown. I can say that the Dragon Fest is my favorite fest. My friends and I really enjoyed it.
     There were many activities in the Dragon Fest, such as rhythms of India, magic show, and Kung Fu show. We arrived there about 2 pm o'clock. The first show that we watched was rhythms of India.  Four Indian girls danced on the stage and audiences really enjoyed it because the four Indian girls were really beautiful and their dancing was fascinating.
      After that, my eyes were appealed by many different shops on the street. We could buy a lot of memorable things which could represent Chinese culture. However, these memorable things were great, they were very expensive so finally I did not buy anything in there.
      We also watched another performance which was called McDonald Magic Show. It was a fantastic magic show. In the poker magic show, the magician made the poker become his tool and he could use pokers to do whatever he wanted.
      Finally, there was a big party for all international people. In this party we could sing, dance, and talk with each other. During this activity I made some new friends. For me this was an interesting activity. I enjoyed the Dragon Fest very much.

Art class

      Last week, I went to the art class. Actually, I am not good at art. I wanted to take psychology class at first but the writing class's schedule was changed so I had to choose the art class although, I was not interested in art class at all. I was a little bit nervous in my first art class in last week.
      At the beginning of that class, the teacher asked us to draw something but we did not prepare any tools so the teacher decided to go out to draw something and he gave us some paper and pencils. In fact, this was the first time that I drew something. I knew I was not good at drawing but I had to draw some pictures.
     At first, we drew statuary on campus. Maybe the teacher noticed that I was not good at drawing so he usually told me how to draw the statuary. And he also taught me some basic skills. Gradually I knew a little bit skills about drawing and I began to draw the statuary by myself. Finally I finished it.
    And then, the teacher asked us to draw some patterns. This time I was more confident and I finished very fast; however, I knew that I needed to practice.
